Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union on Friday condemned the traffic police action against an employee outside government quarters at Tulsibagh here and announced protest against it on Monday.

Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union president Ghulam Rasool Mir told that an employee Tawoos Hussain was manhandled by traffic police sleuths while seeking his documents. “The cops also abused him. If he lacked any document, traffic police should have filed a challan against him. Instead, they humiliated, beat and abused him which is unacceptable," Rasool said, adding, “On top of it, cops created a drama by tearing clothes of one of the personnel in an attempt to implicate the employee.

” Mir said he called Additional SP Traffic and urged him to look into the matter. “However, unfortunately, the police officer also misbehaved with Tawoos and other secretariat employees and used unparliamentary language against him,” he said. The Union president said that employees have decided to protest against it in secretariat lawns on Monday. He also urged IGP Traffic Basant Rath to personally intervene into it and ensure justice.
